Funerary Prayer
(Egyptian Book of the Dead)

Picture
The following is an exert from the Egyptian Book of the Dead, a funerary prayer to the person/ancestor that is now behind the veil.
This can be used in times of great sorrow or pain.
This is useful to help call upon the strength and help of the Gods of the Duat (underworld).

Oh you who are the opener of the ways,
Hear my voice,
Oh you whose ears pierce the walls of noise,
Hear my voice,
You are the dark pupil of the sun,
The knowledge eclipse in the iris of fire,
You are the seeing darkness,
Guide me safely through the terrors of my own unseeing,
Preserve me from my unspoken sorrows,
Return me safely through the gate of becoming,
And open for me,
The door that admits human kind,
To the eternal celestial sea,
Oh you who are the opener of the ways,
Walk with me.
